Wayne Callender Ed.S. is one of the county’s leading RTI Consultants who has worked at the state, district and building level implementing Response to Intervention (RtI). A former statewide RTI director, Wayne currently trains and advises educators across the country in the implementation of Response to Intervention and in the area of school improvement. In addition to being featured as keynote speaker at over a dozen state and national conferences, Wayne has authored numerous RtI articles one of which was recently published in Principal Magazine, as well as writing RtI for Secondary Schools – A School‐Wide Approach published by Corwin Press in 2014.
Angelee L. Eames M.Ed. is an accomplished educator with a wide range of experience in all sizes of school districts. Named “Trainer of the Year” in 2003-2004 by Cambium Learning, Inc., Angelee is both entertaining and motivating. Over her thirty year career she has made hundreds of presentations at the state, national, and international levels. Angelee, with a M.Ed. in learning disabilities, was in public school as a resource teacher, reading teacher, manager for clients with multiple needs and Director of Special Services. During her work at the Scottish Rite Learning Center, she developed powerful diagnostic treatment plans for her clients in a team setting. Angelee has worked in urban, suburban, and rural districts with a focus on secondary students with intensive reading and writing needs—in general education, in special education, or English Language Learners. She also was a consulting teacher and administrator of federal programs. Her specialty is working with districts to develop an effective “Response to Intervention” model with an eye on data driven instruction. She is currently a Senior Consultant working as the technical lead in the Montana Striving Readers Project as well as consulting in many “Turn Around” districts. Her current focus is with the Common Core State Standards ELA and embracing the 21st Century Learner.
Pat Herzig is a national math consultant who has worked across the US at the state, district and school levels. Her vast knowledge of the Math Common Core Standards, K-12 helps Pat work in school districts with teachers to create standards-based pacing guides, assessments, and a way to keep and track data to help teachers inform their instruction, at the same time helping students become more accountable. She also works with teachers on research-based instructional strategies that engage students in their learning. Pat has been a national presenter on researched based engaging instructional practices and RtI in Math. Some of her presentations include a middle school model for RtI in Washington DC for the Department of Education and a presentation in San Francisco for CORE on a systems approach to teaching and assessing mathematics. She was a member of a panel that wrote a Practice Guide called “Improving Mathematical Problem Solving in Grades 4 Through 8” for the Department of Education “What Works Clearinghouse.” (May, 2012)
Joyce Nace M.Ed. is a graduate of the Central Washington University, with a degree in Special Education. She acquired her Masters Degree in Curriculum & Instruction at City University. Joyce was a Washington Educator for 30 years with an expertise in devising strategies for struggling readers. Most recently Joyce worked as a national curriculum specialists for McGraw-Hill Education. In that role Joyce assisted districts around the nation to implement reading, math and language arts programs in a wide range of settings. She has experience in developing, implementing and training staff in the use of specialized curricula for varied populations.
Jerry D Seidensticker, MA has 15 years as a teacher in both elementary and secondary education. For the past 15 years he has worked as an elementary school principal in Title schools and schools with diverse socio-economical student populations. As an educational leader, Jerry successfully implemented RTI resulting in the highest reading scores in his district. His leadership in implementing Positive Behavioral Initiative Supports has been recognized by the state of Montana. In addition Jerry receive advanced training in teacher evaluation using quantitative and qualitative observation data and has first hand experience and knowledge implementing Professional Learning Communities and Common Core Standards. He is an avid biker and hiker and enjoys the great outdoors that surrounds his hometown of Missoula.
